Pet Products Standards Council
Mission: Develop objective performance standards for pet products and to promote those standards
A group of pet product manufacturers joined together to create the Pet Product Standards Council to develop standards in conjunction with independent testing facilities. The initial standard has been completed for dog travel harnesses in July of 2018. This organization has drawn on decades of engineering and research experience within the member manufacturers to develop test protocols and dog test dummies that are available for the entire industry to use. This transparent and open process has collaborated with manufacturers, consumers, independent testing facilities, and pet safety organizations to ensure that the industry produces the safest pet products possible. These manufacturers are committed to hold each other accountable for the safety and claims of their products.
